About the Award of Distinction Gala
Our 2015 Award of Distinction Gala will honor community visionaries who inspire today's girls to become tomorrow's leaders. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. Today, we continue her vision of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place by helping them discover their inner strength, passions, and talents.

Girl Scouting reaches over 10,000 girls in the Rio Grande Valley - two-thirds of whom are from low-income homes. We believe every girl should have the opportunity to be a leader in her community. Proceeds from the Gala will help us meet the rising demand for our outreach programs that are conducted during school hours and provides a challenging and exciting leadership development program at no cost to the girls or their families.
