Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout
Since 1912, millions of women have had their lives positively influenced-sometimes even transformed –by their Girl Scout experience.  Whether you are one of the 50 million women who were in Girl Scouts, or a volunteer, or a staff member who worked at the local or national level to help Girl Scouts reach their full potential, you are forever connected to a rich and vibrant movement.

Stay Connected, Change a Girl’s Life

As Girl Scout Alumnae, you know firsthand how transforming a positive program can be in a girl’s life.  Whether you are actively involved with Girl Scouts or not, you can stay connected through the National Girl Scout Alumnae Association.

Facts about being Girl Scout Alumnae

  1. It is estimated that there are more than 50 million Girl Scout Alumnae.
  2. The first Girl Scout Troops began before women were given the right to vote.  Today more than 90 years later, there is a “Troop Capital Hill” made up of all congresswomen who are honorary Girl Scouts.
  3. Nearly 70 % of the women in the U.S. Congress today were former Girl Scouts.
  4. 64% of the women listed in Who’s Who of American Women are Girl Scout Alumnae.
  5. 53% of all women business owners are Girl Scout Alumnae.
