What Training to Take and When
You might wonder why leaders have to be trained before starting a troop. The answer to this question is simple-- it is a "Safety-Wise" and Council policy. All volunteers need to be trained for their positions in Girl Scouting. If you accept a position with our council then you will be asked to attend training. We want you to be a confident volunteer.

Your Girl Scout education should begin with an Orientation from your Membership Executive or appointed service unit volunteer.

Your First Training New Leader/Grade Level

Every leader is required to take this course (A 7 hour course) within 4 weeks of their appointment. Assistant leaders may also attend but are not required.

If you have older Girl Scouts you will need to have completed the Older Girl Training (Cadette/Senior/Ambassador). Please contact the Training Director if you need the Studio 2 B Training.

If you are a leader changing levels and have already taken the New Leader portion of training, you can attend the grade level only. Please indicate level only on your Training Registration Form.
