🌿🔬 You’re Invited to a Girl Scout Citizen Scientist Adventure! 🔬🌿

Join us for a hands-on, outdoor experience where Girl Scouts become real-life scientists while exploring the wonders of nature! 🌊🧪

📅 Date: June 20th
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: South Padre Island Birding, Nature Center & Alligator Sanctuary

👧 Who Can Attend:
Brownies (Grades 2–3) | Juniors (Grades 4–5) | Cadettes (Grades 6–8)

💲 Cost: $25 per Girl Scout
✨ Includes:
• A South Padre Island Birding & Nature Center patch 🧵
• Certificate of completion toward the Citizen Scientist badge 📜

👨‍👩‍👧 Adults:
• Troops must provide at least one adult leader or volunteer
• Parents/guardians attending independently: $10

👥 Capacity:
Minimum: 5 participants | Maximum: 20 participants

🌎 What to Expect:
Girl Scouts will explore three different bodies of water 🌊 and test key indicators of water quality like salinity, turbidity, temperature, and more! Through fun, hands-on activities 🧪, they’ll build observation skills and discover how scientists protect our environment.

As part of the Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey, girls will learn how real scientists collect data, make observations, and work together 🤝. They’ll participate in interactive games 🎯 and even contribute to a SciStarter project!

To wrap up, Girl Scouts will create their own Take Action project 💡 focused on improving water quality and helping their community.
