🦉 Event Description
Girl Scout Daisies will put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work during this hands-on craft and tinkering event focused on native owls and their habitats. Participants will learn about local owl species and the types of nests they use in the wild while exploring how recycled materials can be transformed into something meaningful and fun.
As part of the event, Girl Scouts will create their own little owlets (baby owls) using recycled and repurposed materials. They’ll also create nests for their owlets, experimenting with different natural and recycled crafting supplies.
Through this imaginative activity, girls will practice creative thinking, basic engineering and design skills, and environmental stewardship by reusing materials in a unique way.
To wrap up, participants will share their creations, discuss what they learned about native owls and ecosystems, and reflect on how small actions like recycling and protecting habitats can help wildlife in their communities. They will also be able to determine which nest created supported the most owlets.
