Girl Scout Week
Every year we call to action Girl Scouts everywhere to commit to seven days of Girl Scout spirit and accompanying activities—whether girls have time for them this week or want to take them on in the months to come. After all, being a Girl Scout isn’t just for special occasions!
Whether you’re a Girl Scout alum, a current member, a dedicated volunteer, or you simply have an extraordinary Girl Scout in your life, you’re an important part of the Girl Scout family. And you know what families do together? Celebrate!
And Girl Scout Week is definitely something to celebrate.
Sunday - March 12th 
March 12th – Girl Scout Sunday AND Girl Scout's 111th Birthday!
Wear your Girl Scout uniform to your local place of worship!
Earn your My Promise, My Faith Award. Work with your family and faith leaders to earn the pin to celebrate the connection between the Girl Scout Promise and Law and your faith. Wear your Girl Scout uniform to worship. Talk with your Girl Scout sisters and family to connect with a local place of worship and learn about how Girl Scouts can be represented on Girl Scout Sunday. Throw a birthday party with your Girl Scout sisters!
There are plenty of ways to celebrate our 111th birthday. Create your own plan or find some ideas below. Happy Birthday to us!
- Host a tea party with your troop! The first 18 Girl Scouts gathered with Juliette Gordon Lowe on March 12, 1912 to have the first Girl Scout meeting while sipping tea. We love a good recreation!
- Host a service project by creating Birthday-in-a-bags to donate to children in local foster care, domestic violence shelters, or homeless shelters. Some items could include party hats, decorations like streamers, banners and balloons, candles, cake in a mug, frosting, a gift card and a handmade birthday card.
- Make new friends! Invite a non-Girl Scout member to your Girl Scout birthday party or your next troop meeting to show her all she has to look forward to as a Girl Scout!

Are you a Proud Girl Scout Dad or do you know of a special male Adult Girl Scout Volunteer? On Man Enough Monday we recognize all of our special Adult Volunteers who stand behind their girls and support the best organization designed by and made by girls. Are you a dad/male figure wanting to take this journey with your changemaker? Contact a recruiter today to get more info on the role you can play in your daughter's Green Girl Scout world!

Tuesday - March 14th
March 14th – Take Action Tuesday!
Behind every Girl Scout is a role model leading her down the Green Path. We want to thank ALL the important people in our Girl Scout's lives. Whether they're a troop leader or a troop supporter, we want to hear about the influential adults that are shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Girl Scouts aren't the only ones taking action. Parents, troop leaders, cookie managers, the snack coordinator- everyone has a role to play and everyone makes a difference! "It takes a village" rings true in our world.
We invite both Girl Scouts AND/OR adult members to fill out our Appreciation Form for any person that comes to mind that you wish you could thank. Someone that has made the Girl Scout Experience possible even with the smallest act of kindness. Check back with us in April for all the ways we'll be highlighting during Volunteer Appreciation Month!
There are many ways to "Take Action" as a Girl Scout Volunteer or Parent. Here are some suggestions:
- Encourage your Girl Scout to earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award. Take an upcoming training with her. Check out the calendar here.
- Have a special talent or expertise? Reach out to us at info@gsgst.org to let our Program Team know how to connect with you for an upcoming council event as a special guest.
- Become a volunteer (if you're not one already)! Did you know there's multiple ways to volunteer with Girl Scouts? Either on a troop level or council level!
- Troop: Leader, Co-Leader, Cookie/Fall Product Manager, Treasurer, Event Coordinator, Service Unit roles, etc.
- Council: Short term volunteers for council events/outdoor experiences, committee member, volunteer recruiter, etc.

Wednesday - March 15th
March 15th- We LOVE Girl Scouts Wednesday!
Whether you're in school, on Spring Break vacation, or lounging at home, wear your Girl Scout pride (uniform preferred but a fun Girl Scout shirt does the trick! No shirt? WEAR GREEN!) all day! We have a special treat- wear your uniform at any participating Peter Piper Pizza location and receive a *free fun patch and a *free ice cream cone! Got dinner plans? Mention Girl Scouts at the register and Peter Piper Pizza will donate 15% of the funds to your local Service Unit!
